For simple and precise testing, the straightedge with its ground cutting edge is placed on the surface to be inspected and simultaneously held against a light source. The resulting light gap provides information about the flatness or any unevenness or waviness of the tested surface or test piece. Depending on the lighting, deviations as small as 0.002 mm can be detected.
The straight edge features a tapered, wedge-shaped test edge. The pointed end of the measuring edge allows for precise testing in corners. The black, insulated plastic handle ensures comfortable handling while also protecting against hand heat.
